Park on Jl. Ciledug Raya Damaged due to Inrit Construction

The construction of connecting bridge (inrit) and road access towards shop-houses has made a park on Jl. Ciledug Raya, RT 04/03, Petukanganselatan, Pesanggrahan, South Jakarta, to be badly damaged. The connecting bridge as wide as 3x4 meters built above water channel has caused collection of plants in the park being cut down.

Ironically, the park caretakers could not do anything even though they had reprimanded the shop-house owner. Moreover, the shop-house owner has had a permit to build the shop-house from South Jakarta Road Public Works Sub-Department in last October.

“The locals have questioned the shop-house owner why his building damaged the park? But, the owner immediately showed the building permit from South Jakarta Road Public Works Sub-Department. Besides the park is diminishing, the water in the channel often overflows when rain pours. So, the channel is difficult to be cleaned up,” lamented Andriyani, a local, Saturday (2/2).

Head of South Jakarta Parks Sub-Department, Nandar Sunandar, admitted the connecting bridge construction could damage the park. For that, his sub-department had sent a warning letter to the shop-house owner, but the construction still goes on. “Pesanggrahan Parks Section has reprimanded the shop-house owner to stop the project, but it is still continued. How could he get the permit? I’ll personally go there,” he promised.

Meanwhile, Head of South Jakarta Road Public Works Sub-Department, Yayat Hidayat, stated that although the permit has been issued, it can still be reviewed violation did occur. “We can revoke the permit. The rule is there must be coordination first, block plan and so on (before conducting construction),” he argued.
